Spotlight on October Workshops

21st October 10am to 4pm Rag Rug Cushion Making

‘Seeker of vintage treasures and maker of handmade delights’ Miss Cherry Pie Vintage brings a treasure trove of felted wools and reclaimed textiles, a box of special tools  and an experienced approach to making super cuddly rag rug cushions. With a wonderful texture on the front, an envelope opening at the back and blanket stitch all around your very own cushion can be styled from one colour or many and will be totally unique.

£60 with all materials and refreshments will be provided (Cherry loves to bake amazing cake!) but please bring your own lunch.

23rd October 10am – 12pm Story Ship Building

Donna Drouin recently created paper ships inspired by the nonsense poem The Owl and the Pussy cat by Edward Lear having been enthralled by the idea of an owl and a pussy cat sailing away together since childhood.

For this workshop she will take you through the process of making your very own ship, inspired any tale that is personal to you. With her collection of vintage maps, letters , handwritten notes , tiny vintage buttons and postage stamps there ready for you to plunder, you will be led step by step into create a story filled ship of your very own.

£20 Suitable for age 14+ All materials are provided but please feel free to bring paper ephemera of your own if you wish to include it.

23rd October 2pm to 4pm Simple book binding for journals and artist books

Incorporating new and vintage materials and using a variety of simple book binding techniques Jane Millum will guide you through the process of designing and making your own, truly one of a kind journal or artist book.

All materials will be provided but please do bring fabric scraps, papers and paper ephemera that you may wish to incorporate into your journal.

£25 Suitable for age 14+ All materials are provided but please feel free to bring fabric scraps, papers and ephemera you may wish to include.
